    Caroline Yuan is one of the founders of Shanghai Diamond Exchange (SDE), the only diamond exchange body in China. Yuan joined China National Arts & Crafts Imp. & Exp. Corporation after graduation. In 1990, she was the Manager of diamond department of China National Pearl Diamond Gem & Jewellery Imp. & Exp. Corporation and was promoted to Vice General Manager in 1994. Yuan has witnessed the development of the Chinese diamond trade, and have valuable insights and visions to the industry.

    Over the last few years, Fergusson has led the development of De Beers Group’s Building Forever sustainability framework and is responsible for ensuring that Building Forever remains at the heart of the business and delivers value-creation for our communities, partner countries and consumers. As part of this, Fergusson’s team leads on global sustainability engagement and partnerships, and on advancing key areas of focus, including biodiversity, livelihoods, skills and community health; as well as inclusion and diversity across our workforce, communities and brands. Prior to joining De Beers, Fergusson worked for Anglo American in South America and previously for KPMG’s Sustainability and Risk team in London.

    Global Sales Director of Picup Media, Hong Kong (2020 Honouree of Young Entrepreneur of the Year (age 40 and below))

    Rocky Yu creates meaningful relationships with jewellers and empowers them by turning them into efficient and effective photographers without the huge time investment and fancy equipment. Coming from an engineering background, he is able to offer an unorthodox approach to problem-solving and innovating ways to help solve the industry-wide issue of jewellery photography.

  • James Courage (Moderator)
    Former Chief Executive Officer of Platinum Guild International (Principal Judge of JNA Awards 2020)

    James Courage is the former Chairman of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) and the former Chief Executive Officer of Platinum Guild International (PGI), where he was responsible for its global jewellery programmes including setting up the platinum jewellery development programmes in China and India. James also worked for De Beers in Hong Kong where he set up their Consumer Marketing Division’s East Asian regional office. Before that, he ran large-scale marketing programmes in the US, Canada, East Asia, South Africa and in a number of major European markets. He is now a consultant to the jewellery industry.

    Veronica Favoroso made her debut in jewellery working for Fabergé and later on for Gemfields. From September 2016, she joined her husband launching Ressigeac Gems. She led the launch of Ruby Track - a pilot project in collaboration with Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF), Institute of Gem Trading (IGT) Thailand and Munpreet. In 2018 Favoroso co-founded GemCloud. One of her priorities is to find ways to address traceability and sustainability issues in the industry.

  • Li Chongjie
    CEO of China Stone Co Ltd, Thailand (2019 Recipient of Manufacturer of the Year – Cutting and Polishing – Creativity and Innovation)

    After obtaining his master’s degree from Tongji Medical College of HUST in China, Li Chongjie ventured into the gemstone trading industry in 1990 in Thailand, where he eventually founded China Stone Co Ltd in 1995. Nowadays, China Stone is a renowned manufacturer of precision machine-cut natural gemstones with various innovative achievements under its belt. To name a few, the company introduced its own set of color standard in 2003, and launched its very own colour sorting machine and RFID inventory management system in 2015. China Stone is no doubt a pioneer in the trade; it always pushes forward the limits to pursue excellence by utilising latest technology.

  • Daniel Nyfeler
    Managing Director of Gübelin Gem Lab, Switzerland (2017 Recipient of Industry Innovation of the Year)

    After his Master in geology, Nyfeler did his PhD in mineralogy, including a research project on superconductors at the IBM Research Lab in Rüschlikon, Zürich, with Georg J. Bednorz , the 1987 Nobel Prize winner in physics. He then worked in an international management consultancy, before taking over the position of Managing Director of the Gübelin Gem Lab in 2003, overseeing the expansion of the lab to Hong Kong and New York. Nyfeler is also in charge of the Provenance Proof initiative.

    Senior Advisor of GIA India (Judge of JNA Awards 2020)

    Nirupa Bhatt was the Managing Director of Gemological Institute of America (GIA) India and the Middle East from 2008 until 2020 where she launched services to over 60 locations in countries including India. She then became GIA’s Senior Advisor. Receiving several global honours for her contributions, Bhatt participated actively in trade bodies including All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council and Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India, being an invitee to the marketing committee of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council.

    Chairman of MCLON Jewellery Company Limited, China (2020 Honouree of Industry Innovation of the Year - Marketing and Retailer of the Year)

    Sun Songhe, the Founder and Chairman of MCLON Jewellery Company Limited (MCLON), is also the former executive council member of Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China (GAC). Sun has been promoting jewellery culture and Chinese jewellery since 1994, when he opened his first jewellery store. He is dedicated to making MCLON an affordable, fashionable and international jewellery brand. He has been selected as one of the top 100 entrepreneurs of Zhejiang by the 2019 “Chinese New Economic Leaders”, organised by Sina, Weibo and China National Radio, among other accolades he has received.

  • Xu Xiaoxue
    Brand and Marketing Director, Shanghai Zbird Co Ltd (Zbird), China (2020 Honouree of Retailer of the Year)

    Xu Xiaoxue joined Zbird in 2008 and has since then put on different hats within the organization, including senior brand marketing manager, director of Lani China division, executive dean of Zbird Business School and the company’s regional director in Shanghai. He is a certified Diamond High Council (HRD) diamond grader, International Gemstone Institute (IGI) colored stones grader, IGI rough diamond grader, IGI pearl grader and a GTC emerald appraiser.

    Co-founder of BOJEM, China (2020 Honouree of Industry Innovation of the Year - Customer Engagement and Young Entrepreneur of the Year (age 40 and below))

    A jewellery designer of her brand, BOJEM, and a Graduate Gemologist of Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Joyee Zhao is an active member in the Chinese jewellery industry. She is the editor-in- chief of Daily Jewellery, a popular jewellery online magazine in China, which shares jewellery knowledge to the general public. Zhao promotes the traditional Chinese filigree inlay techniques by applying them in her designs. She also strongly supports “Green Jewellery” for sustainable development of the industry.

  • Albert Cheng (Moderator)
    CEO of Singapore Bullion Market Association (Principal Judge of JNA Awards 2020)

    Albert Cheng became the Managing Director of Far East of World Gold Council (WGC) in 2003 and appointed Advisor to WGC in 2015. He was also appointed honorary CEO of Singapore Bullion Market Association in the same year and continues to serve as one of the International Advisors to Shanghai Gold Exchange since 2002. Cheng's marketing career began with Dentsu Young & Rubicam, then moved on to gold marketing when he joined the Royal Canadian Mint as Regional Manager.

  • Shreyansh Kapoor
    Vice President and Partner, Kashi Jewellers, India (2020 Honouree of Retailer of the Year)

    Shreyansh Kapoor joined family-owned Kashi Jewellers after graduating from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He also completed the Graduate Diamonds Program at the Gemological Institute of America. Under his leadership, Kashi Jewellers broke traditions and stereotypes by championing female talents in the jewellery sector. He also pursued aggressive marketing strategies that helped revitalise and modernise the Kashi Jewellers brand. Kapoor is bent on further elevating the company’s retail and manufacturing business to greater heights.

  • Le Tri Thong
    CEO, Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ), Vietnam (2020 Honouree of Manufacturer of the Year, Outstanding Enterprise of the Year – APAC and Sustainability Initiative of the Year)

    Le Tri Thong obtained his Master of Business Administration degree with distinction from the Saïd Business School of Oxford University. Having held various senior management positions in leading Vietnamese companies and international corporations, he has successfully built his expertise on the Southeast Asian market. Le has been instrumental in further raising the profile of PNJ in Asia’s jewellery retail scene. PNJ products are currently carried in nearly 400 jewellery outlets in 55 provinces in Vietnam.

Alissia was recently promoted to Creative Director of the Group. The group was established in 1996 and has four jewellery brands, namely Mondial, Frank & Co, Miss Mondial and The Palace, catering to different segments.

  • Angelina Lau
    General Manager, International Operations of SK Jewellery Group, Singapore (2019 Recipient of Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Age 40 or below))

    Angelina Lau joined the Group in 2008 and has been in charge of all strategic operational and management matters at the Group since 2010, including the network of retail stores, branding and marketing activities, jewellery design and quality control. Lau is also responsible for the group’s Love & Co brand, a premium brand with stores in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and China. She spearheads its strategic blueprint including brand concept, product and customer experience development and marketing direction, while overseeing its international launch and expansion. Founded in 1991, SK Jewellery Group has a network of retail brands including SK Jewellery, Love & Co., SK Gold and Star Carat Shop.

  • Prida Tiasuwan
    Chairman of Pranda Group, Thailand (2018 Recipient of Lifetime Achievement Award)

    Prida Tiasuwan, chairman of PRANDA Group and a visionary business leader with more than four decades of industry experience, transformed PRANDA into one of the world’s top jewellery manufacturers and exporters, and the Southeast Asian country’s flagship jewellery brand. Under Tiasuwan’s leadership, PRANDA mastered the mass-production of fine-quality jewellery. With offices in the US, Europe and India, the group also operates its own retail chains and brands including Prima Gold, Prima Diamond, Prima Art, Julia and Merii.

    Director, Shineshilpi Jewellers Pvt Ltd, India (Honouree of Industry Innovation of the Year - Customer Engagement)

    Pramod Mehta is a distinguished figure in the jewellery industry with his notable contribution towards manufacturing unique collection of gold and platinum jewellery in India. He has rich experience in the industry and is an expert of the taste and designs of jewellery in every part of India, making him well known among retail jewellers across India.

  • K Srinivasan
    Chairman and Managing Director, Emerald Jewel Industry India Limited, India (Honouree of Manufacturer of the Year)

    Manufacturing jewellery with innovative designs while utilising latest technology is a passion for K Srinivasan, who started as a salesman since 1984. With no prior experience in the trade, he strived to bring advancement to the industry. Now, Emerald Jewel Industry India Limited is a prominent jewellery manufacturers of gold, diamond, platinum and silver. The company sprawls over 20 acres with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in South India, having an installed capacity of producing more than 35 tons of gold jewellery and 75 tons of silver jewellery and articles a year.

    Director of Brilliant Trading Company (1974) Ltd (BTC group), Hong Kong

    Victor Yiu is responsible for the BTC group’s diamond wholesale division. Over the last 10 years, Yiu led the group ’s China division to supply high quality and reliable diamond jewellery to the Chinese mainland market. In 2008, BTC group established a jewellery design company – ZURI, with the objective to assist brands to upgrade their design and product quality. Yiu is the Vice Chairman of the Diamond Federation Hong Kong and Honorary Treasurer of the Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association.

    Former Chief Executive Officer, Platinum Guild International (Principal Judge of JNA Awards 2020)

    James Courage is the former Chairman of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) and the former Chief Executive Officer of Platinum Guild International (PGI), where he was responsible for its global jewellery programmes including setting up the platinum jewellery development programmes in China and India. James also worked for De Beers in Hong Kong where he set up their Consumer Marketing Division’s East Asian regional office. Before that, he ran large-scale marketing programmes in the US, Canada, East Asia, South Africa and in a number of major European markets. He is now a consultant to the jewellery industry.
